I wanted Jordan almonds to hand out at my wedding, as it is part of my culture's tradition. Unfortunately, I very much dislike regular jordan almonds (without the chocolate), they are very hard and hurt my teeth when I bite them. Looking for a softer alternative, I found these almonds and decided to try them out after reading the other reviews...I got them fairly quickly and tried them right away. They are great! I ordered this small size to try before buying in bulk. I was scared at first to take a bite, because of my past experiences with jorndan almonds without chocolate. But once I did, I was so happy! The shell is not that hard at all (similar to almond or peanut M&M's), the chocolate is delicious, and the almonds are very fresh. They are a little bigger than the ones without chocolate, but they look just the same when wrapped in the tulle favors. They are a little more expensive than competitors, but sometimes a higher price means better quality, as I believe may be the case here. (I did not have a promo code to use either, but signed up for the newsletter which I was told is how I can get these codes.) The price is the ONLY reason I gave this item 4 stars instead of 5. I will definitely be purchasing them again to hand out at my wedding!
We started out disappointed. The first bag we opened did not taste like we had remembered from what we ordered for my daughter's wedding. It tasted as though it was dark chocolate, kind of bitter. The second bag was more like we remembered. Sweeter. Both bags said the same info. and contents, so I don't know the problem. Also disappointed that the ship cost was as much as the candy. Actually more than the flat rate cost, even though it came in a flat rate box. If it would be flat rate price I may consider buying again either 5lb or 10lb. It would fit in that box. But not to pay 8.00 shipping for every lb. Did enjoy very much the 2nd bag but not at that shipping cost. We will just have to hope for it again at someone's wedding.
These are not your typical jordan almonds. The addition of chocolate makes them addictive. Will buy them again! These things are killers, you can't stop at eating just one!!!!! Because of the chocolate coating on the nut, and then the candy shell, they are not as hard to chew as a normal Jordan Almond. Excellent! Could not have been better! Everyone seemed to enjoy the chocolate coated Jordan Almonds.
