Good, Not Great

I am not a mango expert, but I do know that there are dried mangos in the world that retain much of the lovely, fleshy texture and intense flavor of fresh, ripe mangos. These are not those mangos. I am beginning to think there is something to all the rumors I've heard about Thai versus Philippine mangos. I can't speak to that, but I can tell you that these mangos are okay - certainly edible - but not what I was hoping for.

First, the negatives: They have a gummy texture that doesn't feel like mango at all - more like a gummy candy. Like all dried fruit, they are way, way over-sugared. I can't fault them for that since Superior offers a less sugary version, but, seriously, they taste of sugar and very little else. If these were featured in a blind taste test, you might be able to identify them as dried fruit, but I doubt you'd guess mango.

On the positive side, these mangos are of consistent quality, with very few having that rough texture that means they were cut too close to the pit or that odd, soapy aftertaste that unripe mangos sometimes have. Also - and this is a biggie - the price is definitely right. While these may not be the world's greatest mangos, they are fresh and sweet and cheap. I have had (and paid dearly for) better mangos, but I have also had (and still paid dearly for) much, much worse. Three stars.

This was my first time ordering from Superior Nuts, and I was very impressed with all aspects of the order. The price was right, shipping was quick and reasonable, and the product was fresh and well packaged. I may not be ordering this particular item again, but I will buy from this company in future. Maybe I'll try the "less sugared" mangos next time. =) Five stars.

Absolutely The Best Dried Mango Product I have Ever Had

I eat lot's of these dried Mangoes to keep my diabetes under control. As sweet as they are those few ounces each day keep my numbers down. Different fruits work for different people I am told. Mangoes worked for me. The local store I used to buy from changed brands and have a product that looks just like Papaya and did not work. I found these while surfing and after purchasing found them to be like the original ones so much that the plastic package was identical. They worked like I needed and brought my levels down. If you test ask your doctor about trying these. when I started in 2 days my levels dropped by 30 points and I conservatively use 2000 calories of them daily and never gained a pound. Please check with your doctor first as it is a lot of sugars. My doc says it is the enzymes in them that work for me. I hope they work for you too.

Pros:

SUPER fast shipping. Packed tight and secure. Great sweet taste and no chemical tastes or smell like some have that I used before. Great snack for the kids as a break from bananas and not messy. They are quite dry, chewy and make a great candy bar replacement.

Cons:

No expiration date. These come in 11 kilo (22 pound) vacuum packed bags. The bags are not marked. They may be good indefinitely but it would be nice to know. This is not just Superior Nuts brand. None are marked on the bags. Possibly they could put a note "good through" date in the advert.

I would recommend this item to a friend.

Very nice quality, good taste,the shipping was on time, all I'm missing is the expiration date and suggestion on how to storage, otherwise extremelly happy with my purchase I will buy it again. ==> Thank you for your feedback: The expiration date can be fount on the left upper corner of the product label.
