New studies have even found that coffee offers protection against Parkinson's Disease in men, with heavy coffee drinkers having the lowest risk. A cup o'joe may even cut your risk of getting type 2 diabetes in half. In a study of over 126,000 people over 18 years, Harvard researchers found coffee not only lowers blood sugar levels, but it boosts resting metabolic rate, both of which can deter the development of diabetes.
