High in fiber, chia seeds are packed with calcium, phosphorous, manganese, magnesium, niacin and zinc. It's nutty flavor makes chia seeds an easy and delicious addition to baked goods, sauces, yogurts, and cereals. Try mixing them with water, sugar, and lime juice to make a popular South American drink called chia fresca. Chia seeds turn into a gel when soaked in water, and this may be how they promote a feeling of fullness during digestion. The seeds help stabilize blood sugar which may aids in weight loss.
