    Delicious - but be careful with the salted variety

    We have been ordering the Mac Butter for over a year from Superior Nut Company. Our daughter is on a special diet (Modified Atkins) and the macadamia nut butter is practically a medical necessity for us. The price is much better than at the local food co-op and you can not even find it in the regular grocery stores. It keeps very well so buying three at a time is not a problem. The only problem we had is when we ordered the salted variety - on tub was VERY salty. Now we just order the unsalted and add sea salt to suit.

    A recommendation - mix the mac butter with unsweetened applesauce to make a pudding. We started doing this for our daughter to get a sweet, high-calorie, high-fat snack but ended up liking it ourselves. Makes a good desert.
    Pros:
    Delicious and a great price when ordered in the three pack special. Stores well in the pantry and firms up well in the refrigerator.
    Cons:
    Nothing - just be careful when ordering salted.

    We didn't know what to expect, but love macadamia nuts. My sons hadn't tried them before either. Ordered a tub of the macadamia nut (salted) and a tub of the pistachio (salted) and was blown away! it is an excellent addition to crackers, or a twist on pb&j, or just by itself... delicious!!!!!

    I placed an order for my son who is in the Naval Academy. He requested the Pistachio and Macadamia Nut butters. The shipment was very quick...but when he got it he realized he would prefer "unsalted". I sent an email to the company and they immediately sent out an "unsalted" order to him and he LA LA LOVED the butters!!! Thank you Superior Nut Company for your top notch product AND Customer Service! This Military mom is proud to pass along your company to others!

    Great product, in general. Be better if it were a little stiffer (more viscous, like peanut butter). Label says you add peanut oil. What if you added a little less?

    Answer: That's correct the Peanut Oil used in the roasting of the Macadamia Nuts is not hydrogenated. Peanut Oil is only used in the roasting process, we do not add any oil to our Macadamia Butters.
